The 5-Yard Wool Kilt
Our "5-yard wool" kilt is a cross between our "Semi Traditional" model and our "Premier" model. It’s constructed
the same way as our Semi Traditional kilt, but it’s made with wool. We can make it in several hundred different
tartans, including: Scottish clans, District tartans, Irish county tartans, Irish County CREST tartans and Welsh tartans.
This model has a tapered and fringed front apron. It has approximately 18-35 pleats (about an inch wide) and a
triple buckle closure system. Each one comes with tapered hips and is made to your measurements to insure a proper
fit. They come with 2 belt loops (4 inches tall) on the back of the kilt to accommodate a traditional kilt belt.
This model is made from 100% worsted wool from the UK. There are several hundred tartans available in either
13 or 16 oz weights. The price for this model is between $350 and $400, depending on the tartan chosen and the
size of the kilt. As the name implies, our "5-Yard Wool Kilt" uses about 5 yards of material. If a larger size
kilt is required, we may need to make a "6 yard kilt".
