Jacket Measuring Instructions:
Image
If you know your "American suit jacket size", add 2" to it for your Kilt jacket size. For example, if you are a 42 Regular in your suits, you'll be a 44 Regular in your kilt jacket size (we find UK sizes tend to run a little snug). If you're a 48 Long in your American suit size, you'll be a 50 Long in your kilt jacket size.

If you find that "off the rack" suit jackets never quite fit you properly OR you'd prefer your jacket be custom made, please follow the measuring instructions below. Please note that a "Custom Jacket" charge may apply and these jackets are NON RETURNABLE in the case of mismeasurements. If you have any questions about jacket measuring, please email us at: Rocky@USAKilts.com.

Jacket Length:

A. For PRINCE CHARLIE jackets, measure length from the nape of the neck to the waist... just above the top of the hips.

B. For ARGYLL / COLORED BRAEMAR jackets, measure from the nape of the neck to the base of the spine, just above the seat.

C. Chest: Measure loosely around the chest at under arm height while wearing a shirt  / vest (no jacket), with arms DOWN AT YOUR SIDE.  Stand tall and "normal"... do not "over inflate" your chest.  Just stand and breathe normally.

D. Waist: Measure loosely around your "True Waist" at your NAVAL while wearing a shirt / vest (no jacket).

E. Half Back: Put on a WELL FITTING SUIT JACKET. Keep your arms at your side. Find the center back, center seam, starting at 6" below the collar.  Measure from that point to the shoulder seam. If you do not have a suit jacket, measure from the spine (4" below base of neck) to the edge of your shoulder.

F. Sleeve Length: Put on a WELL FITTING SUIT JACKET. Keep your arms at your side. Measure from the shoulder seam to the cuff. If you do not have a suit jacket, measure from the edge of the shoulder, down your arm to where you'd like the sleeve to end. Typically, jacket sleeves end 1.5" to 2" above the base knuckle of the thumb.

Again, please note that a "Custom Jacket" charge may apply and these jackets are NON RETURNABLE in the case of mismeasurements. If you have any questions about jacket measuring, please email us at: Rocky@USAKilts.com
