A or B Waist Measurement: Determine how high on your body you would like to wear the kilt. It can be worn either on the "high waist" (around your naval… like "A" in the diagram above) or "low waist" (where you wear your jeans… like "B" in the diagram above). If you want to wear it at the “high waist”, measure around your belly button. If you want to wear it on your "low waist" (at the height you wear your jeans), measure at that level. Please pick one or the other
C. Hips:
This measurement is taken around the very widest part of your rear end.
This measurement should be taken loosely.
D.Thighs: Standing with your feet together, measure around the outside of both
thighs at the widest point.
E. Mini Kilt Length:
This is measured from the top of where the kilt will sit (i.e. at the height where you measured your waist) straight down to about 3" above the knee. If you want to wear your mini kilt at your "low waist" (where you wear your jeans), your length should be about 15"(15" is an average length for a 5'4" woman, wearing the kilt at her LOW WAIST). Any measurement shorter than this generally does not look very flattering when you wear it; when the pleats move in the back, your rear may be revealed! 17" is about average length for a 5'4" woman who wears the kilt at her HIGH WAIST. As a reference point, here are some heights and mini kilt lengths if you wear it at your LOW WAIST
If your height is 4'8" to 5'2": Length should be about 14" to 15.5"
If your height is 5'3" to 5'6": Length should be about 15" to 16.5"
If your height is 5'7" to 5'9": Length should be about 16" to 17.5"
If your height is 5'10" to 6': Length should be about 17" to 18.5"
If you want to wear it at your "high waist" (i.e. your naval), please add 2" to the averages above.
F. Kilted Skirt Length: This is measured from the top of where the kilt will sit (i.e. at the height where you measured your waist) straight down to about mid calf. The preferred length is VERY subjective and can be anywhere from 2 or 3 inches below the knee to almost ankle length
