The Albannach tartan (c) was designed by Rocky Roeger of USA Kilts and James
Johnston of Albannach. This is a universal tartan designed for the band and
their fans, to celebrate their love of Scotland.
The colors chosen for this tartan represent Scotland, herself:
The bright blue and white are for the Saltire.
The muted blue is for the numerous rivers and lochs throughout Scotland.
The dark purple is for the heather and the thistle.
The olive green is for the rolling hills.
The red is for the blood of those who fought for Scotland.
The black is for those who died in the name of freedom.
The threads in the "Saltire" section add up to 13 and the red threads add up
to 14. The "Flag and Blood" sections are 1314 for the year Robert the
Bruce lead at Bannockburn and reestablished Scotland's independence.
This tartan is available in 11 oz Poly Viscose material in kilts, mini
kilts, sashes or in material yardage (58" wide).
