A Great Kilt You Can Beat Up!
A Great Kilt (or Feileadh Mòr as it's known in Gaelic) is a long piece of tartan cloth which is hand pleated and wrapped around the user. But in North America, a wool great kilt is not always ideal. USA Kilts provides a wide range of high-quality Poly Viscose tartan directly from the mill in the UK. Now you can have a Great Kilt that is easy to wear and wash at home! It's ideal for SCA, LARP, Renn Faire or even daily wear.
Please note - this includes ONLY the cloth used to make a great kilt. You can purchase the Belt, Sporran, Plaid Brooch and Highland shirt separately, or check out our Great Kilt Package to save on the complete Highlander look you need.

Price Value Quality This is my first purchase from USA Kilts, and I am totally pleased with the quality and feel of the material. It is not slick, but has a wool “feel” about it. I’m working on learning how to fold it, etc, but it is extremely comfortable to wear!

Price Value Quality I took the great kilt camping and it held up wonderfully! no tears or rips or anything even going through bushes and climbing a mountain. on the last night it rained heavy which was fine as my hammock was under a tarp... until the wind blew. I was wrapped head to toe in my great kilt and stayed warm and dry despite the fact that it was getting pelted with rain! or at least I stayed dry until there was a puddle in the bottom of my hammock. everything not sitting in a puddle was warm and dry, however. Price Value Quality Wanted to drop a line and let you know that the PV Great Kilt I purchased is fantastic! Fabric is soft, pleats well and has an amazing flow/feel to it when worn. It’s a great option for me, as it’s the same tartan as my 8yrd traditional kilt(from you guys), but frees me of the fear of my(fancy) kilt being ruined at a pub/bar. I foresee more GK in the future. Price Value Quality At first I ordered the PV great kilt in the Kilts & Culture tartan Early January. I then received an email the next day saying that Kilts & Culture in PV is on back order till February. USA kilts gave me the option of going on back order or changing the tartan. I decided to change tartans and go with Scott weathered and added a yard.I called the next day and they were super helpful. The whole experience was smooth and friendly. I received the Great Kilt the next week and I was surprised by the quality of the fabric. This was my first experience with PV, the color is perfect and spot on, it hangs and drapes as it should. I immediately put it on and posted pictures. Everyone went Gaga over the kilt. I absolutely love it and plan on using it out on camping and hiking trips, or just our and about. I still need to sit down and pull yarns from the ends of the tartan to make the fringe, but that should be easy enough. (Posted on 1/20/2021)
