    Jack Dalgety notes of June 1963 state: "This sett is the same as Falconer, Austin and Marshall and derives from Lord Falconer who took over the entailed lands of the Keith, Earl Marischal in the early 1800's. There is a family Keith-Falconer who wear this tartan" The earliest known date from a list compiled by D C Stewart from Wilsons of Bannockburn letters is 1838.
