Recorded in DC Stewart 'The Setts of the Scottish Tartans' (Edinburgh, 1950) as no.139 Mackeane or Macian but also known as MacDonald of Ardnamurchan or MacDonald of Glencoe. This sett was first published in the Vestiarium Scoticum but was also evidenced by an 18th century portrait of Alastair Ruadh of Glengarry.
