  • Notes:

From the 'Old and Rare Scottish Tartans' (1893) which contains a selection of forty-five setts, woven in silk, of special interest or antiquity. Many of the illustrated tartans owe their present day popularity to the publication of this work. The author was D. W. Stewart who said that this tartan was in the Craignish Collection, but this collection has not been subsequently identified. Wilsons' samples, c1830, reside in the Harrisons' and Scott-Adie sample books. The tartan could yet be much older.
