  • Mill: HOE
  • Weight: 13 oz.
  • Notes:

From a portrait at Hornby Castle, Yorks, of Perigrene, 2nd Viscount Dunblane who died in 1729. It was 'revived' in 1822, doubtless on the occasion of George IV's visit to Edinburgh. Sample in STA's Johnston Collection. Sett is similar to Logan's Buchanan. This may have started off life as a Clan/Family tartan which became a District tartan but it is probable that the reverse was true i.e. It was already a district tartan when Lord Dunblane adopted it as his own.
