  • Notes:

The tartan was first recorded by MacIan in his book 'The Clans of the Scottish Highlands' (1847) which he co-authored with James Logan. Sutton/Carr say it was worn by the Northern Kennedys in Lochaber and was later adopted in the 18th century by the Kennedys of Carrick to demonstrate their Jacobite sympathies. This is the same sett as 'King Edward VII' excepting that the yellow on green changed to red.
