- Notes: This is a PREORDER for the Legacy of Darkness tartan. Items ordered in this tartan will ship end of Sept 2026. This tartan was designed by Bryce Colvin to celebrate the atmosphere, cultural influence, and theatrical presence associated with heavy metal music. It was inspired by the visual and emotional experience of live arena performances. Colours: black is intended to represent the darkness of the concert arena before and during a performance; grey symbolizes the structural elements of the stage environment, including lighting rigs, scaffolding, and the industrial framework that supports large concert productions; red is for the intensity, power, and emotional energy of heavy metal music; yellow is for the spotlight and the enduring legacy of the genre’s most influential performers. Symbolic thread counts were incorporated into the design including a reference to the year 1970, when Black Sabbath released their debut album and helped establish the foundations of heavy metal music.
