Also known as MacDonell of Glengarry. This sett is called MacDonald of Clanranald in the 'Vestiarium Scoticum' (1842) but there is a sample labelled as Glengarry in the Highland Society of London Collection. This may have been produced by Wilson's of Bannockburn around 1815-16. The tartan is certainly well established. Other records include: W & A K Johnston (1906), The Tartan of the Clans and Septs of Scotland, The Setts No 112 , D.C Stewart.  J.G.Mackay, The Romantic Story of the Highland Garb and Tartans.
