Rollo Ancient

An asymmetric sett. As with very many tartans there are alternative counts documented for Rollo and the woven samples do not adhere to any of them. Dark blue is shown in the samples but the Lyon count and other counts call for azure. Sample in STA Johnston Collection. Mid blue sample and light blue sample in STA Dalgety Collection. There is a note in the STA records saying "Woven at the request of the Late Lord Rollo 1946."
