Two ravens sit on Odin’s shoulders, and bring to his ears all that they hear and see. Their names are Hugin and Munin. At dawn he sends them out to fly over the whole world, and they come back at breakfast time. Thus he gets information about many things, and hence he is called Rafnagud (raven-god).  - Gylfaginning, Chapter 38

In Norse mythology, the great chieftain of the Gods, Odhin, keeps two ravens as pets. Yet truly these birds are in fact his servants;  his avatars who bring him news of the goings on in Midgard as well as the other realms of the World Tree. They are named  Huginn ("thought") and Muninn ("memory"). According to the Lore, each day they fly across the multiverse and return to their master to reveal what they have learned. This mahogany wood wall plaque is hand carved with loving detail. Measures approx. 12" by 12".
