  • Notes:

Also called MacIntyre 1840. Wilsons' specimen c1830-40 in the Harrison & Co Sample Book. Close to Buchan with the broad black bands becoming blue. Buchan notes make no mention of MacIntyre: "Said - by the Clan Chief, David Buchan of Auchmacoy - to have been adopted by the Buchan family around 1965 because of their long association with the Cummings which began with the marriage of Margaret, daughter of King Edgar, to William Coymen, Sheriff of Forfar in 1210. The name, Buchan, though a family name, is territorial in origin. The sett is asymmetrical."
