  • Notes: Part of a new and rapidly growing national dress, the sett for this Welsh surname and its variations is recognized as an official tartan or "plaid" in Wales. As with all recognized and recorded Welsh tartans, it is woven in Wales at the Cambrian Woolen Mill, weaving on the same site since 1830. Welsh tartan setts differ from traditional Scottish patterns in that the warp and weft are of different proportions, giving the finished worsted wool cloth more of a predominant "stripe". This is vertically noticeable in the finished kilt, or "Cilt" as it is spelled in Wales. This tartan dates to 2002.
